What is biodynamic craniosacral therapy
What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a health orientated touch therapy. Therapists are highly trained to recognize and support specific healing processes. Our bodies are born orientating to health, BCST works with the body’s innate intelligence to heal itself. For example when you get a cut on your arm. We don’t need to think about how to heal the cut; our body is programmed to know how. Our body’s can get confused or unintelligent in certain cases but through patient and therapist communication during treatment and homecare our systems can learn to self-regulate once more. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy supports the body in its entirety. So instead of treating only the symptoms of 'problems' or dis-ease, it treats the cause.

What can BCST treat?
  • Chronic pain
  • Nerve pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Digestive issues
  • Adrenal fatigue
  • Stress
  • Trauma patterns
  • Sleep troubles
  • Joint, back and neck pain
  • Concussions
  • ETC, ETC, ETC - See Meaghan's bio for more.

What is the difference between BCST and other mechanical therapies?
Mechanical approach to treatment in general is based on specificity and the dysfunction vs. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is holistic and based on health. BCST allows all of the events leading up to the time of pain, dis-ease to be treated. Examples of these events could be physical, mental, emotional and/or physiological suffering/traumas.

What can I expect during a BCST treatment?
In a BCST treatment you are fully clothed lying on your back or on your side. The practitioner will touch in at your feet to see how your system is and then may move to another area of your body based on what was felt at your feet. From an outsider’s perspective, a BCST treatment will look very still. As the patient on the table you may feel a lot going on in your body, or you may feel very little – both are effective. Some examples of sensations that you may feel as a patient are temperature changes, muscle or limb twitching, body shape changes, compressions/lengthening, shifting of tissues or familiar sensations.
