Hi everyone! I'm Meaghan. I truly want to help you and am committed to supporting you in living a pain free life.

Two things in my professional development that has made me a unique, advanced practitioner is the years of mentor-ship with Sheryl Hamilton D.O.M.P, RMT, RCST, BSc. and the 5 years I worked with the First Nations population in Kamloops and surrounding areas at Q'wemtsin Health Society.

The focus of the monthly mentor-ship was practitioner development. I developed an educated eye to recognize and facilitate deep, effective therapeutic process. In this time there was significant personal growth. That is important as a therapist because you can't help others until you've helped yourself. Neuroscience proves this concept through mirror neurons.

The program at Q'wemtsin Health Society was based around working with Elders and chronic pain patients within the community. My focus was on trauma resolution and creating safe, therapeutic space. My case load was multi-faceted and complex. One of the biggest take aways was slow down, listen to the person, listen to the body and drop any agenda - that's when the magic happens, literally!! This work was very close to my heart and I feel so honoured to have had the opportunity. If it was closer to home, I would have never left.

NOTE: I treat way differently than most Registered Massage Therapists. If you are looking for a deep tissue/full body massage there are wonderfully talented RMT's in town that offer that and I suggest you seek them out.
